Location: richland WA. Did the sas and charcoal can removal on my '23 SAR. removing the tank is not that big of a deal, getting to the point where you can remove the tank is. as you must remove crash bars, all the side panels and partially remove the front fairing, storage cubby, prob 30min just to get to the tank.
The 1290 bikes I rode were the SuperDuke R and the SuperDuke GT both of which I loved. I was going to go with the GT, but I wanted to try the Super Adventure S before making a final decision. Ironically my main reservation with the Super Adventure was the 19" front wheel, which I thought could be vague and confidence eroding.

It's an abandoned race track not far from my town, in northern Italy. Been there a couple of years ago, it looks like they made a lot of clean up as the track was filled by the vegetation then. The guard rail between main straight and pit lane isn't there any more and there's a new entry gate in lieu of the Jersey barrier I had to find a way
Joined: Aug 9, 2012. Oddometer: 102. Location: Bainsville, Ontario, Canada. I have a new 1290 Adv R, 3500kms on the clock. Yesterday the TFT display stopped working. The lights at the bottom (oil pressure, highbeam indicator, turn signals etc.) all work, just the TFT display doesn't come on.
Super Adventure S. Ok genuine request for info, I currently have a 2014 Triumph Explorer XC with 39,250 miles on her but as much as I love the bike, I want a bit more power. I did want the KTM 1290 GT but it’s to small as I’m 6’4” with old bones that hurt after 100 miles on a small bike. So now I think I’m pretty much sold on the KTM
Like all Touratech comfort seats, the seat for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure has a precisely balanced angle of inclination that supports an upright riding position. By means of the seat surface design, the Touratech developers have managed to solve the annoying problem of slipping forward and to provide relief for the rider‘s coccyx with the Last Name. Fink. Mar 12, 2018. #1. I suffered an MTC Failure on my newly acquired KTM Super Duke 1290. As I understand it, as explained on other forums and by the mechanic (Dan) at at Cycle Shack North, the MTC Failure is a catch all and doesn't always mean what it says. In my case, it meant disaster! If there's lots that may support low compression (but not due to valves). Hard starting is also a sign of tight valves. A recent dirt bike I worked on had that problem and a valve adjustment fixed it. Then there's a fuel filter, fuel pump or pinched or shut off fuel line to consider. I'd start there first. They advised me to make a warranty repair claim for two new tyres, plus new rim seal bands plus grommets for the TPMS sensors. If other owners encounter the same problem, the part numbers you will need are as follows: Rear wheel spoke seal bands: 60310173200 FELGENBAND 17". 60310277100 DICHTGUMMI 5"X17". Front wheel spoke seal bands: .
