2. theres a fault with an earth on the car a check of the earth points and a clean up would show this. 3. the alternator is overcharging the battery an alternator test by ford would show this dont use normal garages they dont understand smart charge. sounds stupid but there are very few garages who know the focus needs a silver calcium battery

Please advise. C-max 2012. My car displayed the engine malfunction, service now 2 weeks ago, 3 miles from home. I was only doing a short trip and when I returned to the car the message had gone. A week later it happened again and went in to limp mode. I took it for a diagnostic check and it showed no faults and no faults stored.
